Kindergarten Registration Begins April 1st(posted: March 26, 2008)
Parents are encouraged to register their incoming kindergarten-age child at district primary schools throughout April during the Month of the Young Child. Children who will be five years old on or before Sept. 1, 2008 are eligible. Although parents may continue to register children through the end of the school year, they are encouraged to attend Kick-Off to Kindergarten Orientation at school on April 24th to tour classrooms and receive important information from teachers, support staff and principals. Each school will offer a.m. and/or p.m. program orietnation times. Please check each school website for more specific information for times. Please call 672-6863 for more information.
Scholar's Cup Begins April 1(posted: March 26, 2008)
The 2008 SCholar's Cup season begins on April 1st at Columbia Middle School at 9:00am. This annual event includes all district middle schools allowing teams of students to participate in an academic competition in all subject areas. The book for the competition this year is Red Kayak by Priscilla Cummings. Each school participates four times during the season. Teams have been practicing hard for weeks to prepare for this competition. The season will conclude on May 13 with the final tournament being held at WTVP TV studio. Parents are invited to attend the competitions.
